I listen to bits and pieces of music from a wide range of artists—from Queen to Eminem, and Frank Sinatra to Hatsune Miku—so it’s hard to talk about my musical tastes. I thought posting photos of the LPs I own would be a good way to show this, so I’m uploading the records I have on hand.

Bought these because artists I like.
New Traditionalists - DEVO
My first impression was that they were a "well-designed band". The music itself was different from what I had listened to before; rather than seeking out rhythms that make the heart leap, I listened to it to prod at some indefinable part of my curiosity. While I didn't get completely hooked right away, I found myself wanting to listen to them again after a while, and there simply weren't any other bands quite like them. For now, listening to DEVO remains the only way to get that particular kind of stimulation.
B Stiff - DEVO
I love the combination of this BW jacket and the bright yellow vinyl. I’m not fluent enough in English to grasp the nuances of the lyrics. Setting aside the lyrics and focusing purely on the atmosphere of the songs, I like tracks such as "Jerkin' Back 'n' Forth," "Time Out for Fun," and "Dogs of Democracy". Though I consider this a very foolish way to listen (especially with bands like DEVO). I want to learn more about them. I feel that we all think less than we used to and are currently in a state of "De-EVOlution," but I want to keep DEVO’s music close at hand so that we can remain "thinking reeds."
1981 Extended Play - iDKHOW
If someone asks me to recommend a band, I name them. When I first saw the MV of "Do It All The Time", I felt a genuine sense of excitement something I hadn't experienced in a long time. There is a great appeal to a retro or aged look that has been made with care and effort. It is incredibly cool when this style is adopted intentionally, not merely to bask in nostalgia, but to build a unique world of its own. Among these, I especially like "Choke."
Razzmatazz - iDKHOW
This album features many of my favorite iDKHOW songs. It feels like it has a stronger sense of nostalgia than the "1981 Extended Play." I really love "Nobody Likes the Opening Band," "New Invention," and "From the Gallows". I love listening to them at sunset. It feels like I'm plummeting toward the sun while burning fiercely (I'm not on drugs).s I’m dying to see them live.
The London Sessions 1928-1930 - Al Bowlly
I discovered Al Bowlly through The Caretaker's "It's Just a Burning Memory." I really like the performance of "The Very Thought of You" at Pathé Studios that can be seen on YouTube, but I wonder if there’s an LP that includes that version... Then again, I haven't even been able to find a record containing the standard version. I couldn't find any of his albums at local record shops or even at major stores in Tokyo, so everything I own was purchased from online shops.
With The Ray Noble Orchestra - Al Bowlly
I’m definitely keen to get an LP that includes classics like "Heartaches" and "Midnight With the Stars and You," or a cover of "Over the Rainbow"; honestly, though, I’m just happy to own *any* Al Bowlly record, so I end up buying them whenever I spot one. In this case, I was completely won over by the cover art. It brings a smile to my face just seeing the Victor dog not all alone. It’s a heartwarming scene, yet there’s something wonderfully awkward about the way Bowlly’s legs are stretched out stiffly.
The Shocking Miss Emerald - Caro Emerald
Personally, I consider Caravan Palace to be the pinnacle of electro-swing, but I also think more people ought to be talking about Caro Emerald. The first song of hers I discovered was "Tangled Up", which was frequently used in animation memes. I thought it was cool at the time, but after listening to "Coming Back as a Man" and "The Maestro", I was completely captivated by her. Electro-swing comes in various styles. Some leaning more towards the "electro" side and others more towards the "swing", but her tracks are so incredibly elegant, refined, and cool.
Bought these because I thought there is good album.
Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs - Marty Robbins
I bought this LP because I felt it was absolutely essential. It is thoroughly steeped in the atmosphere of the American West. The limited-edition clear vinyl looks cool. The only downside is that "Saddle Tramp" isn't included.
Mother Earth's Plantasia - Mort Garson
How did I find out about Mort Garson? I think it was through a post by the Swedish audiovisual artist Love Hultén. His wall-mounted player sample video playing on it happened to be *Plantasia*. It only played for a few seconds, but the moment I heard it, I was struck. "What is that sound!?" I looked it up. The backstory and concept behind the album are wonderful, too.
Blue Hawaii - Bing Crosby
If I were asked which LP I’d take with me to the afterlife, I’d have a hard time deciding—but this would certainly be a top contender. To think that the only Bing Crosby LP I own isn't a Christmas album, but a collection of Hawaiian songs...

Do you think you need a reason every time you buy a Beatles LP?
Yellow Submarine - The Beatles
I first saw the animated film "Yellow Submarine" during a university class on the history of animation. It made a huge impact on me. My parents owned red Album, so my only impression of the band was based on songs like "Help!" and "Yesterday"—which made the experience all the more striking. It was likely the first LP I ever bought. I also enjoy other Beatles songs, such as "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." I definitely want to add more of their albums to my collection.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
I love "When I'm Sixty-Four" and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," so I bought this album early on. I first heard "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in an animated film the contrast between the distinctive art style and Paul singing with such a powerful voice was incredibly cool—I fall for it all over again every time I watch it.

I started listening to a lot of music back in junior high school. I had a habit of watching Undertale memes before going to bed, and I think it all began when I came across the song "Lone Digger" by Caravan Palace there. Having loved Disney since childhood, I was already a fan of old cartoons and the upbeat jazz played in the parks. So, perhaps it was only natural that I would be captivated by the electro-swing genre. From there, I began listening to a wide range of genres, including hard rock, indie, pop, and new wave. Since I was in junior high during the era when it was already easy to listen to music on platforms like YouTube, my approach was less about deeply immersing myself in a single album and more about exploring a vast array of music superficially. That is why there isn't much I can say about it in depth. I would really like to acquire a proper understanding of music.
