I've been doing a lot more commissioned illustrations lately (thank goodness!), so I've put together the logos I've drawn in commission illustrations so far.
Since 2024, I've been taking commissions through a Japanese commission service called Skeb. Every time I delivered a batch of commissions, I would create a collage of sample images to announce on social media, and now I have quite a few of those images, so I'd like to take a look back at them all at once!

I haven't decided what type of work I'll be doing next year, but I'd be happy to receive commissions again.
I had tried to do Inktober once before, back in 2018. I was disappointed that I couldn't even last a week, so I didn't try again for a long time, but then I suddenly decided to give it another go.I wanted to complete Inktober no matter what, so I set the following rules to make it easier for myself
- Draw roughly using a ballpoint pen and marker
- Design a character based on the words of the theme
I took out the brand new notebook I bought at the Nintendo Store in Kyoto and opened it to the first page, determined to get it done!

[DAY1] MUSTACHE Speaking of mustaches, I thought they were a bit of an old-fashioned symbol of masculinity, so I added some Western movie elements to emphasize that. A monster that goes around destroying beds with his moustache. "A real man has no place to sleep in peace."

[DAY2] WEAVE I really, really hate spiders, and I just recently encountered a terrifying one (see blog), but I thought that drawing something I've always avoided and disliked might lead to a new way of expression, so I designed a spider as a character that would be a reliable ally. It is modeled after the Huntsman Spider (called "Sergeant Spider" in Japan).

[DAY3] CROWN A simple word play on crown and clown. What do I want from a crowned clown king? Outrageous, of course! When I think of the circus, I think of gunpowder! Cannon fire! He wears a crown made from exploding cans.

[DAY4] MURKY It was difficult to imagine the English word "murky" in Japanese, so I might have misunderstood the meaning. I interpreted it as something damp and gloomy, but not particularly frightening, and depicted the supernatural character of a dog emerging from a swamp. It brings a gentle death to people.

[DAY5] DEER I remembered a Western liquor I'd seen recently in a grocery store with a picture of a deer on the label, so I decided to base my drawing on that drink. It was the German herbal liquor "Jägermeister." He has a evil appearance but is harmless character, like something you'd see in a children's horror movie.
After this, I actually bought Jägermeister, but after drinking it one night alone I found myself unconscious and my pants were gone when I woke up.

[DAY6] PIERCE When I looked up the meaning of "pierce", the first thing that came to mind was an image of an iron pipe comically piercing a body, and an image of earrings, both of which are my common ideas, so I thought about whether I could draw something a step stranger, and this is the result of that. An old lady who says nasty things that pierce your ears and sting your heart.
...
...That's all folks!
Again, I couldn't last a week. That's how it always goes for me.
In order to keep my X accounts active, I would create and post visuals to announce website updates around the 10th of each month. As expected, I didn't keep it up... I've collected designs from November last year to September this year.
Although it will be less frequent, I would like to continue designing images for use in X or other sns to announce site updates. I would like to enjoy designing casually, like doodling. (Otherwise, Adobe softwares I pay for every month will end up gathering dust...)
I practiced sketching while watching movies on my subscription.
It occurred to me that I'd never really watched a lot of old horror and suspense movies properly, so there was a time when I watched a lot of those kinds of movies all at once. I wrote this while watching "Psycho." When it comes to movies as famous as Psycho, I know the plot and some scenes, but at my age, this is the first time I've watched it from start to finish. Every time I come across a movie being parodied in another movie before I've seen it, I always regret it and think, "Ahh, I should have seen it."
